Pat Gay has been active member of the Coalition since it inception in 1989. She was the unofficial secretary from 1989 until 2004, when the membership determined she needed a break. Pat assisted the newly hired coordinator with the transition from an unfunded, all-volunteer coalition to a fully funded and staffed coalition in early 2005. She has participated in the drafting of the newly ratified by-laws (September 2005), helped develop the 2005-2006 Strategic Plan, operated as a liaison between the school district and the coalition, recruited several new community members for the coalition, sought prevention education opportunities for herself and offered leadership and guidance as the coalition began this fiscal year with a strong sense of purpose.
